Welcome to the SGAC Zimbabwe page! Space is still perceived as being quite insignificant in most parts of Africa and the developing world. With far more pressing issues at the moment such as poverty, climate change and political unrest, Zimbabwe is still very far from getting involved in the space industry. Yet there is one thing our leaders failed in realising: space can offer solutions to our current problems. In Zimbabwe, only the youth see the potential and benefits of a national space industry and thus awareness to space related subjects is growing gradually. If you are interested in space or if you simply share our dream of a better future, contact us and join SGAC!

Young Space Activities Overview in Zimbabwe

SGAC Zimbabwe is currently planning to host a youth gathering on climate change and energy issues this year. Since Zimbabwe is not yet actively involved in space activities, our resources are still very limited. We are going to partner with some local youth groups to be able to realise this project. It will give us a platform to meet with fellow young people in Zimbabwe and to discuss the benefits of space technologies in meeting current energy challenges and the global climate change.

In addition to this event, SGAC is here to act as a hub for young professionals and advanced students interested in space. Networking through our website and participating in the SGAC projects are great ways of staying connected to the space community worldwide.
