Selamat datang ke SGAC Malaysia! Since the first Angkasawan was launched into space in 2007, being pushed by the Program Angkasawan Negara (National Astronaut Program), Malaysia has joined the special club of countries in space. A lot of development in space and satellite technology has been seen over the last three years. Participation from the government and major universities in Malaysia in paving the way to promote astronautics-related courses and activities to enhance the youth in taking the path to engage in anything space. SGAC Malaysia hopes to bring the young space community of Malaysia together to grow a network for a better future in space. Join us now!

Young Space Activities Overview in Malaysia

Most space activities are hosted by ANGKASA (National Space Agency) under the Ministry of Science, Technology & Innovation and local universities to encourage the young space community to be involved in the development of expertise in space field.

Country-Specific Events in 2010

  • Campus Space Walk (7 October 2010): A group of astronauts will conduct presentations for students in selected educational institutions nationwide in conjunction with the 23rd Planetary Congress for the Association of Space Explorers. The sessions will begin from 10am to 1230pm respectively in each campus.
  • 23rd Planetary Congress for the Association of Space Explorers (5-10 October 2010): Malaysia is playing host to this year's congress with the theme of One Planet, One Hope, One Future. A technical session on human exploration titled perspectives of language and culture chaired by astronaut Gerhard Thiele. The congress serves as a forum for astronaut members to interact professionally and develop ASE programmes. The event is a first of its kind in South East Asia whereby 61 participating astronauts from 17 countries are gathering to encourage international cooperation and essentially promote education in space science and engineering.
  • International Conference on Mechanical Aerospace Engineering (26-28 November 2010): The premier forum for the presentation of new advances and research results in the fields of theoretical, experimental, and applied Mechanical Aerospace Engineering. The conference will bring together leading researchers, engineers and scientists in the domain of interest from around the world.
