GC University of Lahore

The Department of Physics, GC University, Lahore is the oldest science department imparting instructions at postgraduate level in Physics.

The contributions of the Ravian Physicists to the scientific life of Pakistan over the last 50 years have been noteworthy. They occupy positions of eminence in the national organizations of science & technology, e.g. Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission, Dr. A.Q. Khan Research Laboratories, etc. as well as abroad. Our alumni have bagged more than 44 civil awards, which is the highest number of Civil Awards obtained by physicists of any educational or a research institution in Pakistan. While the past of the Ravian Physicists has been glorious, the Ravians in the years to come have to play a greater role, and we have full confidence that we will keep up the traditions of the Ravians and would take Physics to greater heights in the 21st century.

Future Prospects

Masters or higher degree from Physics Department open new avenues of development for students. They can become scientists, researchers, teachers and adopt other fields
