Open Source Resources for Educators
It seems that the "Inspiring Education" project has not been followed up on since 2004 (there is no activity on the web forum). One thing from their paper that struck me as being very attractive was the proposition to start a web-based resource for educators. I recently came across this website, http://www.space-explorers.com/, while researching for a film my wife and I are planning to produce (about space education). Does anybody have any knowledge of this Space Explorers Inc company? It seems to operate only in the U.S.A.
I think that there are many free/opensource materials available that could be put together to provide educators with experiments/projects that they can use in class. All that needs to be done is to sift through it all and put it together. If this were done then anyone could access, contribute, benefit, without cost or copyright or border restriction.
If anyone is inspired by this idea please let me know. Perhaps this can be listed as a separate project as it would be more focused than the general Inspire Space initiative. In the paper this proposed resource was called Teaching Star.

The best thing about human space flight at the moment is getting kids to be excited about thier science education. I am lobbying the Irish government to be investing in the European Astronaut Corps and 95% of my argument is about the social benefits for the country of human spaceflight, if anyone knows something interesting about Space-Explorers lets see it.
I have started a project called "Teaching Star" at http://missionforge.net/public/ that will develop a web-based resource for educators.
Check it out and contribute, or send me comments/suggestions.
