So whats going on.......
Hi, all;
I joined this team in the hopes of learning more about the competition details and am starting to feel like it would be a conflict of interest if I helped too much in developing the guidelines.
However, I do feel that if this competition is going to have a fair shot at success and pull in a large number of submissions, the guidelines need to be approved and announced soon (ie: before the end of the school year).
I'm looking for some feedback/further interest/support on this issue....
Thanks!

Hiao not that, seem there is only two left here (I got your point, others will storm here near completion) - you and me - so go on. I am a simple spacer.... So do not worry about conflicts. Best (mad) wishes !!

Hey, Madman;
No worries! :) I've just been a little busy with work, but I'm still thinking about this! I think Ricardo and Emmanuel have posted some good points on the other forum. I'll post some more ideas a little later.

So, will this paper be written by an individual or will the entire group help?
Also, how technical will this paper need to be? Should it be accessible to the public or will we need to be very scientific and technical (university-level physics and engineering) with it?
We aren't writing an actual paper; instead, we are setting up a technical paper competition. The goal is to promote SGC (as the winner(s) will receive some level of funding to attend the conference), encourage the presentation of innovative solutions and ideas related to Moon/Mars transit, and to promote SGAC as well.
You should read our discussion in the Project Work and Tasks thread....

Yes i think you guyes have a good grasp of things regarding the competition. Thanks Marcia to clearify stuff. Our task is to set the competition basis and outline and announce it by this years SGC. So between now and then a lot to do in terms of outlines and the whole setup.

hi,
I attended SGC Fukuoka 2005 and was involved in this project. Unfortuantely we did not have the time to make it happen but we did some preliminary work which I'm sure will give you guys some ideas on how to succeed - this requires some dedication but I think you guys can get it going. Here is the link to stuff that we had designed.
remember that is all just the beginning.... good luck, I cannot check on here much but if you have specific questions on that stuff email me: vshah1@gmail.com
