SGAC New Member Guide
I think it would be good to create a SGAC new member guide. This guide would include a SGAC history, bylaws, current officers, past and current projects, a how to get involved checklist, election information, position requirements, where to find email addresses etc. Essentially, it would be a handbook that you could download or print. This would be a great marketing piece and tool to use for recruitment purposes.
Personally, I find it frustrating trying to figure out how to use this site and how to participate... especially when I first joined. It has taken me a lot of time to get comfortable with the site and think that if it wasn't for my persistance than I probably would have never participated in space gen.
As the European IAO I am having a hard time locating my contacts and getting anything from them for the newsletter. I wish there was a guide that I could read that would walk me through the steps, rather than have this feeling that I am trying to figure it out all on my own.
Maybe this could be a SGC 2008 Project?
Hope this didn't sound like a gripe session... that was not my intention!
Please let me know your thoughts.
I must say that I agree. I have only just found and joined this site, and would really like to get involved, but am finding it quite tricky to familiarise myself with the structure of the website and the next steps on how to participate.
I would welcome such a discussion!
