Yuri's Night World Space Party graphicYuri's Night 2010

2010 marks the 10th annual Yuri's Night global celebration as well as the 29th anniversary of the first Space Shuttle flight and the 40th anniversary of the famed Apollo 13 mission!

Last year, the 2009 executive team to expanded the impact of Yuri's Night by recruiting and supporting over 200 events in 47 countries around the world. This was the largest number of events in the history of Yuri's Night! Other milestones over the past 10 years have included: an annual Zero G flight raffle in Houston, a massive hangar party at NASA Ames with over 3.000 people, and more than 5,000 trees donated by the Yuri 'Plant-a-Tree' Mission.

This year we have continued to grow and expand our global events and are releasing a series of Yuri's Night Global Podcasts with stories and toasts from celebrities, visionaries, astronauts, and history-makers. Check out the videos on iTunes or online.

TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton Roads, VA, hosted an event called TEDxNASA: Space to Create on November 20, 2009. Loretta Whitesides was selected as speaker with her presentation on "A Foundation for the Next Space Generation". For more on TEDxNASA, please visit http://tedx-nasa.org.
